Personal Profile

Ben Donovan concentrates his practice in commercial litigation.  He has experience in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, scope of insurance coverage disputes, arbitration law, premise liability, negligence and intentional torts, and appellate procedure.

Before joining Berkowitz Oliver, Ben served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Alok Ahuja of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.  Ben graduated with honors from the University of Kansas and magna cum laude from Washburn University School of Law.  While in law school, Ben was a legal intern in both Washburn’s Small Business & Nonprofit Transactional Clinic and Washburn’s Criminal Appellate Advocacy Clinic.  Further, Ben worked as a lobbyist during two legislative sessions and as a law clerk at a civil litigation law firm in Topeka.  Prior to attending law school, Ben worked tier two support for a health information technology company.

In his free time, Ben enjoys homebrewing, playing and watching basketball and soccer, and spending time with family and friends.
