Berkowitz Oliver sponsors benefit for Kansas City Hospice; paralegal Alex Gleason chairs event
On Sunday, October 11, nonprofit Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care held its annual Sunday Night Live event in the Power & Light District. Berkowitz Oliver has supported the event in several capacities over the years, and this year sponsored an in-event game to raise additional funds from partygoers. Paralegal Alex Gleason and her husband, Dusty, along with their siblings, chaired the event after experiencing Kansas City Hospice’s services firsthand when they lost Dusty’s sister, Kristi, in 2025. This year’s event raised more than $600,000.
“Chairing Sunday Night Live was especially meaningful to our family because of the compassionate care and support Kansas City Hospice provided during one of the most difficult times in our lives,” said Gleason. “It’s an honor to help support their mission and the families they serve.”
Megan D. Costello, a partner at Berkowitz Oliver, serves on Kansas City Hospice’s Board of Directors. “Kansas City Hospice is the largest nonprofit hospice organization in Kansas City and provides invaluable support not only to patients and families facing the end-of-life process, but also to many others in the community who are processing grief, loss, and life-limiting illnesses. I am so proud that Berkowitz Oliver has supported this organization for many years,” said Costello. Costello and her husband also chaired Sunday Night Live in 2018.
