Personal Profile

Jeff is an experienced litigator that has defended companies in complex litigation and government enforcement matters in state and federal courts nationwide. Jeff’s practice includes business litigation and class action defense and, in particular, his practice has focused on representing companies in the financial services industry, such as mortgage lenders and brokers, credit unions, banks, and securities broker/dealers, among others. Jeff has defended companies in wide variety of contexts in connection with investigations brought by the Department of Justice, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Department of Urban Housing and Development, and state banking regulators, in matters involving the False Claims Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, Freedom of Information Act, and state consumer protection laws. Jeff has also successfully prosecuted and defended trade-secret and restrictive covenant matters in court proceedings and arbitrations.

Jeff’s career started in Washington, DC where he worked for a law firm representing companies in the financial services industry and was recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star.” Prior to joining Berkowitz Oliver, Jeff worked for a Missouri law firm advocating on behalf of individuals, where he obtained a $450,000 jury verdict on behalf of an individual in the District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Outside of the office Jeff can be found honing his vocal performance and guitar skills, playing golf, and spending as much time as he can enjoying the outdoors with his wife and son.
