John Shaw Moderates CLE on Federal Law Enforcement Trends

John Shaw moderated a CLE presentation entitled “Investment and Financial Fraud – Trends and Current Issues in Federal Law Enforcement.” The CLE was sponsored by the local chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the University of Kansas School of Law , and took place at the Charles Evans Whittaker Courthouse in Kansas City, Missouri. The presentation included participants from the SEC Denver Regional Office, the CFTC Division of Enforcement, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas and the Kansas City Office of the FBI.

Berkowitz Oliver Sponsors Association for Women Lawyers’ Annual Golf Tournament

Berkowitz Oliver kept golfers hydrated as a drink cart sponsor at the 2017 “I’m Not Serious About Golf” tournament at Hillcrest Country Club on October 6th. Sponsored by the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City , this annual event benefits AWL Foundation, AWL’s charitable arm. Anthony Durone Represents H&R Block in Case Seeking Injunction

The Kansas City Business Journal recently reported on a case in which Anthony Durone  represents H&R Block against a former franchisee. The suit alleges that defendants violated a non-compete by setting up a competing business near their former franchise, which H&R Block reacquired.
